Surprise Locations

Sheri grew up in a rural town in Northern California.   She moved to Reno, Nevada to start a family shortly after graduating from a community college in California.   She has over twenty-five years experience working with children and families.  Her first job was working in the field of health and human services where she fell in love with the social work profession.  Sheri has continued to work with children and their families in various compacities.   These include working in the juvenile justice system, law enforcement, inpatient psychiatric hospital, foster care and adoption, adolescent mobile crisis, and most recently as a school counselor in a K-8 school in Arizona.    In 2017, Sheri went back to school and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno.  She has a minor and certification in Addiction Treatment from the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT).  In 2018, she obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work from the same University and soon after became a licensed master level Social Worker (LMSW).

Sheri’s primary clinical orientation is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with a person centered and strength-based approach.  She has the belief that everyone has strengths and has the ability to reach their goals and their full potential.   She can help with issues such as depression, anxiety, life changes and trauma.   She also loves helping people who may be suffering from addiction or those who may have a family member suffering from addiction.   Sheri’s real passion however is in helping teens and their parents.  She is a mother herself and knows how difficult raising children can be, especially teenagers!  Sheri is an authorized facilitator for The Parent Project and Loving Solutions parenting programs.  She is very compassionate, empathic, and non-judgmental.
